Every couple of years or so some of my friends from high school and I try to to take a trip together. This year we chose Las Vegas. So, this past week, I took a couple of days off work to meet 5 of my friends in Vegas. No husbands or boyfriends, just the girls. We all flew in from various places, California, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. It was so great to meet up with everyone!
We all arrived Thursday afternoon, ready for fun! After unpacking and grabbing a bite to eat. We headed to the Excalibur hotel for a show called "Thunder From Down Under". It's supposed to be a show for ladies only. Yep, it's one of "those" shows. If you don't know what I mean, use your imagination! It was a lot of fun though! It was really funny watching all the women at the show go wild! It was even funnier that there were a couple of men there! An older lady made her husband go and another guy was there with his wife. I know my husband would never go to one of those shows...at least not the male version.

We got up fairly early on Friday ate breakfast and headed to the pool. I didn't stay out at the pool for long. It was over 100 degrees, I could just feel my skin burning! I went up to the room and showered. I met up with Sun and we made our way to the craps tables. I ended up losing some of my money there, but Sun and I played for a good 2.5 hours! That night we had dinner reservations at a Brazilian Steakhouse. If you've never been to one, you should definitely go! Basically, it's all you can eat meat. The servers bring various cuts of meat (filet, pork, ham, sirloin, etc.) to your table. We all certainly ate our fair share! They were constantly coming to our table. After dinner, we walked on the strip and of course gambled a little more. :)
Saturday, we all met my parents, brother and his girlfriend for lunch. My family happened to be starting their vacation that Saturday. I haven't seen my parents since January, and my brother since my wedding. I was very excited to see them and meet Jeremy's girlfriend.
The rest of the afternoon, we walked around, gambled, walked, gambled. We had reservations at a spanish restaurant. The restaurant specialized in tapas, basically you order various "appetizers" to share with everyone. The food was great! After that, we had tickets to a hypnotist show. It was very interesting! Karen and Diana volunteered to be hypnotized, but unfortunately (or fortunately for them!) they weren't able to be hypnotized. The hypnotist had the volunteers do some pretty crazy things. I'm still not sure if the volunteers were faking, or if they were really hypnotized. I guess I'll never know! After the show, we gambled some more! I'm not sure how everyone else did, but I did not walk away a winner.:( I did come home with some money, so that's better than nothing!
The next morning, we all flew (or drove) out. Lucky for me, my long flight was with Diana. And our flight was on time. Believe it or not, I didn't have any problems flying into Vegas! My flights were on time. And like I said, our flight leaving Las Vegas was on time as well. My flight from Atlanta was another story. I got to the gate, and was very excited to see that the plane was there. Apparently, that doesn't matter. Our flight crew wasn't there, so we ended up leaving 45 minutes late. I got in at 9:15 PM, thinking it was still early and I could make it home at a decent time. I should really keep my thoughts quiet. I had to wait for a checked bag. The conveyer belt for the luggage did not even start moving until 10:00 PM. I finally got to leave and hit traffic. At 10:30 at night! Traffic?! I didn't get home until 11:15 PM. My trip wouldn't have been complete if I didn't have some sort of travel delay! :)
I'm really glad that we were all able to make this trip. All of these girls really mean a lot to me. I think they've all had a hand in shaping me into the person I am. I can't wait for the next trip!

Aw, it looks like you girls had so much fun!!! I have never been to Vegas but would love to go... I'm sure I would like it since I love Biloxi and that's on a much smaller scale! I'll always remember our trip to Biloxi together and how your parents slipped us some chips. So sweet! Your fam looks great and I hope Jeremy's g/f works out! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time!! That's one of the things I'll always remember about you... all of your trips and how much fun you have (and gambling. You do like to gamble! :> )
