Memorial Day Weekend

Sunday Rob and I went to see the musical Wicked. It's 'the untold story of the witches of oz'. It really puts a different spin on the story we've all grown up with. I really enjoyed it! The music was so good! They had very catchy songs and the singing was OUTSTANDING. I have to say that my favorite character was Glinda. After seeing this musical, I have a whole new opinion of her. I don't want to give too much away with the plot, you'll just have to go see it for yourselves.:) Rob really enjoyed it, too. I'm so happy Rob enjoys going to plays/musicals with me!:)

Monday, we just ran some errands and Rob worked out in the yard a little bit. Rob really enjoys making the yard look as nice as possible. A couple of weekends ago he wanted to get some flowers for our yard. I was hesitant to buy flowers for a house we are only renting. So, we compromised and got a potted plant for the porch and two hanging plants. Here are some pictures of Rob working out in the yard (with a helper) and the flowers Rob picked out.

Rainy Day

Saturday started off early for us.  Rob wanted to get the yard done before the rain started.  With all this rain we've been having, we have to mow our grass once a week.  Okay, Rob has to mow the grass once a week.  And he was gone last weekend (and it rained) so we were already behind!  Rob started on the yard and I started on the house.  In our lease it says that we are to have the (pink) carpet steam cleaned once a year.  Well, next month will be a year!  I can't believe it either.  Anyway, we needed to get the carpets done, so of course I had to clean up and vacuum for the steam cleaner.:)  As soon as Rob was finished with the yard it started raining, it was perfect timing.  Once the yard was done and the carpets were cleaned, we decided to go see "Star Trek".  It was so good!  Rob nor myself are 'Trekkies" , but the movie was clever, had a good plot line and easy to follow.  After the movie, we headed to the Greek Festival in Norfolk.  As soon as we got there, it started pouring!  Below is a picture of the rain.  After that, my camera died, so I had to take a picture of Rob with my camera phone.

Rob was craving a gyro, so he was very happy.  We had calamari (which I didn't know was a Greek food) and Greek fries!  Yummy!  We walked around for a bit to look at all the items they had for sale.  While we were there, we got a phone call from one of Rob's friends.  Ben and his girlfriend wanted Rob and I to go see "Angels and Demons".  I LOVE the movies, so of course we said yes.  I thought the movie was just okay, but everyone else thought it was really good.  We had a really fun/busy day Saturday.  Today has been a quiet day, I'm already excited about next weekend though.  We have tickets to see the musical "Wicked".  I can't wait!  Well, I think I'll end this blog with one of the (famous) quotes from one of the movies we saw yesterday.  "Live long and prosper. Visitors

Last week our friends Katie and Beau stopped in for a visit.  Beau just finished department head school and had to come to Norfolk to spend a week on a ship.  We were very excited to have Beau, Katie, Belle and Lilly (Their dogs) stay with us.  Annabelle was very excited as well.   We had a very nice week.  I was able to take Monday off from work, so while the boys were off at work we went to the mall and got pedicures.  It was a very nice, relaxing day for me.  I had spent the previous week working Tuesday-Sunday 4 PM-Midnight, so I needed some downtime!  The rest of the week was pretty low key.  Beau and Katie left early Friday morning, they have a few stops along the way as they head to Pensacola.  We had such a great week with the Benoits!

Colonial Williamsburg

Okay, I'm a little behind with keeping up with our blog.  A week of working 4-12 (yes midnight!) will do that to you.  So, I'll try to catch up everyone up on the last couple of weeks.

Two weeks ago, Rob and I decided to take a trip to Colonial Williamsburg.  It was a beautiful day to be outside.   When Virginia was first settled, Williamsburg was the capital.  During the revolution the capital was moved to Richmond because it was safer and more centrally located.  Today, much of Colonial Williamsburg has been restored to what it was in the 18th century.  Rob and I had a quick trip up there, we didn't realize there was so much to do.  We definitely need to start our trip earlier in the day next time.  Here are a few pictures from our trip:
